Featured Bookclub: The Good Book Club

In 1996 a group of friends in the Clear Lake Area of Houston, Texas decided to start a book club. In March of 1998 that group became The Good Book Club.

In August 1998, the GBC launched a web site, and opened its membership to the global World Wide Web Community.

In 2000, the GBC partnered with PageTurner.net and became a charter member of the African American Book Club Summit. This historical event was a national effort to create an alliance between book clubs, authors and independent booksellers.

Since it's inception the GBC has read over 100 books representing all genres; hosted various author book signings; and helped to start other new book clubs throughout the country.

Currently, the GBC has several active off-line chapters (Houston, Denver, Oakland and Austin) and two GBC teen chapters (Galveston and Denver.)

The GBC has over 500 cyber members throughout the United States, Canada, Germany, Argentina and New Zealand.
